María del Mar Alfaro began Del Mar Surf Camp in 2001 with a passion for sharing Costa Rica’s beauty and year-round surf with women worldwide. We take great pride in being one of Costa Rica’s first surf schools that is owned by a female and native Costa Rican. Starting from small beginnings, we are now co-ed and have partnered with three beautiful resorts within Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Each resort offers daily surf lessons, surf coaching, All–Inclusive Surf Camps and more! Choose from pre-made Surf & Stay packages or design you own Custom Vacation Package.
Whether you’re a novice or an advanced surfer looking to take your skills to a higher level, our year-round consistent waves and certified instructors will help you reach your surfing goals and inspire an appreciation for your overall wellness. All of Del Mar Surf Camp’s instructors are certified in CPR, First Aid and Water Rescue. They are legal, insured, and committed to keeping our student-to-teacher ratio small, safe and outrageously fun.
